i hate movie snobs who act like the only good movies are old classics and feats of artistic genius. if i am entertained all the way through a movie, it’s a good movie. that’s it. those are my standards.
This goes for plays and musicals too, you theatre snobs. Farcical comedy has just as important a role in live theatre as Shakespeare, Sondheim, Brecht, Chekhov! If you let someone forget about their problems and laugh for two hours, you’ve done your job. It doesn’t always have to be any deeper than that.
